Vogue 8962 I LOVE YOU

This pattern just never lets me down.  The colorful fabric was picked up at a Clegs Remnant sale in June last year.  Not really much length.  It sat and sat.  It didn't have much of a future.  It was never going to be a vest, unless I was going back to Primary School.  What to do?  Ta Da... Vogue to the rescue with "8962 Very Easy Vogue."

I had already made a few tops from this pattern and loved how each top did not look like any of the others.  An off cut of pure wool colored black, from Darn Cheap Fabrics, happened to fall near my foot in my sewing room...the next thing I knew the two remnants were engaged to be married.  The top just needed a little finishing.  Fold over elastic stood out as the perfect finishing touch.  It actually was the link that brought the two pieces together.  And they lived happily ever after!

There is nothing like a good ending for some orphans from a box (or two or three or four) of remnants.  Nothing is more exciting than working out what you can do with pieces of fabric that need just that right something to be wonderful.  I will be featuring more of my adventures with remnants soon.
