Oh by the way I don't like your yellow shoes!

Creative people break rules and run with it. I don't like spending a huge amount of time on any one piece or outfit. Details are not what I spend my time working on. I wasn't born with that amount of patience. I am amazed and so impressed with people who sew well constructed and tailored garments. The inside details are just as important as the outside to them. There are so many other amazing sewing disciplines. We are all unique in our own way. Celebrating differences and enjoying the variety of sewing techniques and tips is a wonderful thing in the sewing community. People encourage and motivate us to keep going, offer solutions and generally support each other. That is the sewing community I am drawn to.

So don't you just love honesty?! For some reason if you dress for yourself and are happy being yourself other people find that annoying! Why is it that other people can't appreciate other people's styles? I just happen to love my yellow shoes and wear them because I love them. I know they are not everyone's cup of tea. I accept that. It is called personal taste. I like what I choose to wear or I wouldn't wear it. I love seeing other people's outfits. In fact I enjoy seeing how other people put their outfits together. Inspirational.

I wonder how many of us have been told what we have chosen is unacceptable. Who says? Who really needs to hear that someone doesn't like what you are wearing. I say be yourself and continue to be brave and celebrate the individual that you are. Maybe some clothing items aren't as flattering as some....maybe a little tweak here or there...we can always improve but let us not be stomped on. Let us all be who we are and not be pushed into a prototype unless you love being a prototype.

Everyone should dress to feel good and bring out their best and walk with confidence!

I won't tell you not to be you!!! Are you the best you, you can be?

Who has told you they disapprove of your style? I would love to hear your stories.

Spring is here!! Time to reassess my Spring/ Summer Wardrobe.
